Camiren and Justin have been a joy to get to know and photograph! Their wedding was absolutely beautiful (and they were too)! It was on a gorgeous country property and had a nautical theme! Their wedding and reception details were stunning and had so many personal touches! Their ceremony was outdoors on a day when they were giving tons of rain, but it ended up being an absolutely beautiful day and not a drop! We have loved documenting their journey from being engaged love birds to husband and wife! Congratulations Camiren and Justin! We pray God blesses your marriage and you have a long wonderful life together!
How did you first meet and what were your first thoughts and impressions of each other? Give us the details!
We met at a Homecoming band party on October 6, 2012. It was Justin’s house but I didn’t know that. We saw each other from across the room and he come over and started talking.
Camiren: My first impression was that Justin was a sweet “good” guy. He made me feel safe and comfortable. He was sweet and caring.
Justin: I thought she was pretty and had to be smart, She had 2 out of 3 before I even talked to her.
Tell us about your first date!
I’m not sure we ever had a formal first date before we started dating. We watched a lot of How I Met Your Mother and saw each other in group settings. The first time we did something without our friends was Thanksgiving. I took Justin to my sister’s for Thanksgiving and they grilled him on our “relationship” and his intentions. When he had to leave he told me he loved me. I thought he had to be crazy, we hadn’t known each other that long. Later that day he came back and asked if we could start dating and for reasons I couldn’t tell you, I said yes.
When did you first know he/she was the one?
Camiren: We were hanging out and Justin was making me laugh so hard my sides hurt. I couldn’t image ever being happier than I was in that moment. I knew I wanted him to be the one to make me laugh for the rest of our lives.
Justin: I thought about her all the time when we weren’t together. I had never felt like that with anyone else.
Tell us all about the proposal!
Camiren: He seemed nervous and on edge. Kind of like he had done something wrong and waiting for me figure it out. I suspected but I had been wrong before. When he dropped to one knee I thought “This isn’t real!” I jumped up and down and squealed like a little school girl! I was excited and terrified all at the same time. Getting married seemed like a big deal but spending my life with Justin seemed natural.
Justin: I was planning for a little over a month. A couple of days before I picked up the ring I was scared she would find it cause she is sneaky and could tell I was nervous. When we got in the car, I told her I forgot my wallet and went back to the apartment. She had no idea I was decorating the apartment with rose petals and chocolates. I asked my sister, Hannah, to video the proposal. I told Camiren that they were in town and wanted to take pictures with us on the pedestrian bridge. When they got there, we were posing for a picture and I dropped to one knee.
What is the one thing you love most about each other?
Camiren: I typically can see surprises coming but Justin has a way of surprising me like no on else can.
Justin: Her smile. I always try to make her smile because it’s my favorite thing about her.
Share with us something silly or quirky the other person does that is normally annoying or crazy, but makes you love them a bit more each time… Or you know you love them because when they do it, you don’t kill them!
Camiren: I tend to be a little OCD. Justin always thinks that before he does something. For instance, one Valentine’s Day he got me white and milk chocolate covered strawberries. He alternated the colors cause he knew having 2 of the same kind next to each other would bother me.
Justin: She makes sound effects. I always ask her to repeat them because they’re just so cute.
Besides getting married what was the one thing you were looking forward to the most on your wedding day?
Camiren: Finally getting to see his face when I walked down isle. It took a lot of effort to keep my dress a secret. His face made it all worth it.
Justin: Finally getting to see her in her dress!
