Jamie + Jonathan’s Wedding

Jamie and Jonathan’s wedding was gorgeous!  This couple is so sweet and I am so glad they chose me as their photographer!  I would love to share a few photos from their wedding and a bit about them and their love story!

How did you first met and what were your first thoughts/impressions of each other?  All the details!

Jamie:  I first met Jonathan when I was out with my boyfriend at the time about 5 years ago.  We were in a group that all met for the first time.  I can remember only thinking that he was a nice guy at the time.  We all played pool and hung out for a couple hours.

Jonathan:  I first met Jamie 5 years ago, I was at this sports bar with a friend of mine, and we were just hanging out and playing pool.  While we were at this place a couple came to the table where we were hanging out.  These guys and my friend seemed to know each, and like old friends they immediately started to exchange greetings, and out of courtesy my friend introduced me to them.  First thought… “MY GOD SHE IS BEAUTIFUL!” First Impression… Nice and easy going personality.

When did you first know he/she was the one?  Was there something he/she did?

Jamie:  We had been friends for 3 years when my father passed away.  He was there for me in every way a friend could and was very supportive.  We developed more feelings for each other and started dating.  I fell completely in love with him for many reasons!  I think I knew then when we were talking about the future and what we were both looking for in a relationship.  I was like a little girl when your heart beats fast every time you are in a crush with a boy.  He makes me feel so great about myself that all I want to do is make him feel amazing all of the time.  I am so blessed that I found him!

Jonathan:  After 3 years of knowing each other as friends, and also we were witnesses of each other’s previous relationships, like good friends we kept going out like we always did.  Until one day after several conversations, we realized that we were the perfect match for each other, we had a deep discussion of simple beliefs like:  what family is, how our families raised us, what we want from life, and our visions of the perfect person, the one you want to share the rest of your life with.  All these conversations, the experiences we had to go through to be together, the support she has given me since the beginning, all this and more are the ones that make me love her more and more every day, and realize that she is my perfect woman, and the one I want to spend the rest of my life with.

Tell me all about the proposal!

Jamie:  The proposal is kind of funny actually.  🙂  We had been talking about getting married for about 6 months.  We were buying our first house together and I knew he felt that we should be engaged before we closed on our house.  He bought us tickets to the General Jackson boat for July 4th and we were shortly after going to close on our house.  I thought for sure that this would be the moment!  When we were getting ready to go out for the evening on the boat, I started to be a little sneaky.  Every chance I got I was looking for a ring box.  I know… crazy right!  I just was so excited and can easily ruin special moments for myself.  After all of my being sneaky I did NOT find any indication that he was going to propose.  I got a little irritated and couldn’t stop thinking about it.  I had a drink or 2 to calm my nerves meanwhile Jonathan was a little off himself.  He was being more quiet than usual.  We were seated for dinner and I went to go look for a restroom.  Jonathan decided to follow.  We then ended up hanging out on the back deck.  He kept looking around nervously at everyone.  After almost everyone was gone he got down on one knee and proposed.  It was perfect because I had convinced myself he was not going to propose.

Jonathan:  I thought about the proposal not too long before.  A few months before it happened I asked her to go with me to pick out her ring.  The deal was: “You will not know when it’s going to happen,” but the idea was for her to pick out the ring she really wanted.  She did not see it coming…  I don’t think!!!  It was on the 4th of July and we went to the General Jackson Show boat.  I was really nervous.  She even asked me if I was OK, because I was acting weird.  I proposed to her before the 4th of July lights in downtown.

What is the one thing you love most about each other?

Jamie:  That is honestly hard because I love lots of things about him.  I love that he is such a caring person and has all of the qualities of a man that I could only dream of finding.

Jonathan:  What I love about her?  All the qualities she has are the ones that I looked for all my life in a woman.  Every day I thank God for having the most amazing, beautiful, and loving woman in the world.

Congratulations Jamie and Jonathan!  You two are amazing and I pray you have an amazing life together!  I can’t wait to show you your slideshow and all your images tonight!!!
